The EU AI Act Is Live.
ConsentPixel Already Covers It.
Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires websites to disclose AI-powered features to EU visitors from 2 August 2026. We built the disclosure directly into your consent banner. Enable the toggle. Done.
What Article 50 Actually Requires
Article 50 of the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) introduces four transparency obligations. Not all of them apply to every website — but if you use AI-powered features, chatbots, or generate synthetic content, at least one of them likely applies to you.
AI Interaction Disclosure
If your website uses an AI system that interacts directly with visitors — a chatbot, AI search, AI recommendations, virtual assistant, or AI-powered live chat — you must inform those visitors they are interacting with AI. Disclosure buried in your Terms & Conditions does not satisfy this obligation.
✓ Covered by ConsentPixelAI Content Marking
Providers of generative AI systems must mark synthetic outputs (audio, image, video, text) in a machine-readable format, detectable as AI-generated. A grace period until 2 December 2026 applies for systems already on the EU market before August 2, 2026.
December 2026 deadlineEmotion Recognition Disclosure
If you deploy AI systems that recognise people's emotions or categorise them biometrically — such as sentiment analysis on video calls or facial expression tracking — you must inform the people exposed to it. Applies to specific use cases.
If applicable to your use caseDeepfake & Public Interest Labelling
Deployers who use AI to generate or manipulate images, audio, or video constituting a deepfake must disclose it. AI-generated text published on matters of public interest must also be labelled. Applies to media, news, and content publishing platforms.
If applicable to your contentMost websites need Article 50(1) compliance immediately. If your site uses any AI-powered feature that visitors interact with — including AI chatbots, AI search, AI recommendations, or AI-assisted support tools — you must disclose this to EU visitors from 2 August 2026. ConsentPixel surfaces this disclosure in your consent banner automatically when you enable the toggle.
One Toggle. Full Article 50(1) Coverage.
We built EU AI Act disclosure directly into the consent banner — not as a separate pop-up or modal, but as an "AI-Powered Features" section that appears in your banner's details panel when visitors expand it. No separate implementation, no extra code.
Go to the AI Act tab
In your ConsentPixel portal, open your Consent Banner and select the AI Act tab. Find the AI Content Transparency toggle labelled EU AI ACT.
Enable and configure
Toggle AI Content Transparency on. An "AI-Powered Features" section automatically appears in your banner's details panel. Customise the disclosure text to describe your specific AI features.
Publish instantly
Click Publish. The disclosure goes live immediately — versioned and tracked in your banner's version history. Your EU visitors see the disclosure at the point of first interaction.
The disclosure surfaces here — in your existing banner's details panel. No pop-up. No second screen. No separate implementation.

Everything Article 50(1) Compliance Requires
From disclosure timing to versioning to cross-platform coverage — built in.
First-interaction timing
Article 50 requires disclosure "at the latest at the time of the first interaction." Your consent banner appears on the first page load — the disclosure reaches EU visitors before any interaction occurs.
Banner integration — no separate pop-up
The AI disclosure appears inside your existing consent banner's details panel. No additional modals, no second consent layer, no developer work. The compliance is embedded in the mechanism EU visitors already see.
Versioned and dated
Every change to your AI disclosure is versioned in the portal's history (Version 1, 2, 3…). If a DPA investigates what disclosure was in place on a specific date, you have an auditable record.
EU visitor geo-targeting
ConsentPixel already detects EU visitor location and applies the appropriate consent mechanism. The AI disclosure appears for EU/EEA visitors as required by the EU AI Act — without affecting visitors outside that scope.
Works across all platforms
WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix, and any site using the ConsentPixel pixel snippet. A single toggle in the portal updates the disclosure across every page of every platform your site runs on.
Customisable disclosure text
Describe your specific AI features in your own words. Whether you use AI search, an AI chatbot, AI-powered product recommendations, or AI content generation — the disclosure text is fully configurable in the portal.
