A privacy policy generator built from your website's real data
Most generators hand you a blank questionnaire and a template. ConsentPixel scans your site first, then builds a privacy policy from the trackers it actually finds and your business details — so the policy describes what your website really does, not a generic guess. Works for any website, Shopify, Wix and more.
Creates your ConsentPixel account · 14-day free trial · no credit card · from $8.99/site per month after. Prefer to look first? The site scan needs no account.
A privacy policy is a disclosure, not protection. It describes what your site does with data — it doesn't, by itself, make what your site does lawful. For the document to actually help you, what it says has to match what your site really does. That's the whole reason we build it from a real scan.
How the generator works
The difference starts before you fill in a single field. Instead of asking you to remember every tracker on your site, ConsentPixel looks at what's actually there and builds from that.
ConsentPixel detects the trackers, analytics, and third-party scripts actually running on your pages — the same engine behind our free privacy scanner.
Company name, contact, the regulations that apply to you (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and more). A few fields, not a 30-question maze.
The document reflects the trackers found on your site plus your details — so the disclosures match reality instead of listing things you don't use or missing things you do.
Paste the HTML into your site, or publish to a hosted ConsentPixel page and link it from your footer — so when you update the policy, the live page updates at the same URL.
A template-based policy is a guess about your site. If it lists cookies you don't set, it looks careless; if it omits a tracker you do run, the disclosure is inaccurate — and an inaccurate privacy policy is arguably worse than none, because it misrepresents what you actually do. Building from a real scan is how the document stays true to your site.
Five documents, not just a privacy policy
The generator covers the full set of documents most websites and stores need, all built from the same real data and your business details:
What data you collect, why, and visitors' rights — with an optional data-request (DSAR) link built in.
Governing law, paid plans, user accounts and user-generated-content clauses where they apply.
A per-category breakdown of the trackers found on your site, explained in plain language.
The one that stays synced to your scans — it updates as your trackers change, and flags drift ("new trackers found since last sync").
GDPR Article 28, plus FADP, POPIA and Standard Contractual Clauses — often gated elsewhere, included here.
Works with your platform
Whatever your site is built on, you can generate a policy and add it in minutes — either as a pasted page or a hosted link:
Shopify & Wix stores
Store builders like Shopify and Wix give you a page to hold a privacy policy, but they don't tell you what trackers your apps and pixels are actually loading — and stores tend to accumulate a lot of them. Because ConsentPixel builds the policy from a real scan, it reflects the pixels your store actually runs. We're building dedicated step-by-step guides per platform; in the meantime the generator works for all of them today.
Add a data-request (DSAR) link automatically
Privacy laws give people the right to ask what data you hold and to request its deletion. Your privacy policy is where they look for how to do that. ConsentPixel can insert a Data Subject Access Request section and link directly into your policy — a single checkbox, on by default — wired to a request route so those requests actually land somewhere you can action them, rather than a dead "email us" line.
It's honest about its limits, too: the DSAR section tells visitors how to exercise their rights; you still have to fulfil the requests. It gives them the front door — you answer it.
Publish once, keep it in sync
Here's the quiet problem with most generated policies: the moment you paste the HTML into your site, it's frozen. Laws change, your site changes, and the pasted copy silently goes stale. Every competitor's own fine print admits it — their documents are static, and keeping them current is your problem.
ConsentPixel gives you two options, and you choose:
- Download the document and paste it into your site — a frozen copy you control completely.
- Publish to a hosted ConsentPixel URL and link it from your footer — when you regenerate or update, the live page updates at the same link, so you're not re-pasting HTML across your site every time.
And when a regulation changes, ConsentPixel flags an "update available" on the affected document — only if that change actually applies to your policy — so you can review and republish rather than wondering whether your policy has quietly fallen behind. You stay in control of what publishes: you're the controller of your own content; we host and keep the clauses we track in sync.
How this compares to a typical template generator
| Typical template generator | ConsentPixel | |
|---|---|---|
| Built from | A blank questionnaire | Your site's real scan data + your details |
| Reflects your actual trackers | Only what you remember to enter | Yes — detected automatically |
| Cookie declaration | Static list | Scan-synced, shows drift |
| DSAR request link | Often extra / manual | One checkbox, wired to a route |
| Hosted link that stays in sync | Sometimes | Yes, at the same URL |
| Positioning | "Compliant in minutes" | Honest: a disclosure, verified against your site |
The row that matters most is the first one. Everything else follows from building the document out of what your site actually does, rather than what a form-filler hopes it does.

Privacy policy generator FAQ
Is the privacy policy generator free?
Document generation is included from the Starter plan (from $8.99/site per month), with a 14-day free trial and no credit card to start. The difference from free blank-template tools is that ConsentPixel builds your policy from your site's actual scan data and your business details, so it reflects what your site really does rather than a generic guess.
Does a privacy policy make my website compliant?
No — and any tool telling you otherwise is overselling. A privacy policy is a disclosure: it describes what your site does with data. It doesn't, by itself, make what your site does lawful. For the policy to be accurate and useful, what it describes has to match what your site actually does — which is why we build it from a real scan and also offer a scanner and consent tool to align your site's behaviour with the disclosure. This is information, not legal advice.
Can I use it for my Shopify or Wix site?
Yes — it works for any website, including Shopify, Wix, WordPress, Squarespace, Webflow and custom sites. You can download the policy to paste into your platform's page, or publish it to a hosted ConsentPixel URL that you link from your footer and that stays in sync when you update it.
Can I add a data request (DSAR) link to my policy?
Yes. A single checkbox adds a Data Subject Access Request section and link to your privacy policy, wired to a request route so visitors can actually submit access and deletion requests. It's on by default and you can turn it off. The section tells visitors how to exercise their rights; you still fulfil the requests.
Do I have to update the policy myself when laws change?
ConsentPixel flags an "update available" on a document when a template changes for a regulation that actually applies to your policy — a CCPA-only change won't nag a GDPR-only policy. You review and republish; if you're using a hosted URL, republishing updates the live page at the same link, so you don't re-paste HTML everywhere. You stay in control of what publishes.
